Sapporo Snow Festival

The Sapporo Snow Festival takes place once a year for a week in February

There are 3 main sites: Odori Park, which has most of the large-scale snow sculptures and street food vendors — Tsuodome, which has most of the kids stuff (ice slides, tubing, snowmobile rafting, snowman building, even an indoor center with mini shinkisen train and bouncy castles) — and Susukino, which has ice sculptures that are all lit up at night.

While we were in Sapporo, we also made a visit to the Sapporo Beer En (black label was the best in the tasting),the Nijo Market (almost preferred this one to Tsukiji) and some great restaurants including an amazing yakitori place called Shiro.
